Start in Los Angeles and cruise the fabled Pacific Coast Highway, cross the Golden Gate into San Francisco and then work your way swiftly through a handful of national parks (Bryce, Death Valley and the Grand Canyon), sow some wild oats in Vegas, and finally work your way back to Hollywood before heading home. Arrive at any time.
Drive north to beautiful Santa Barbara. Stop at a food truck, a local specialty, for lunch. Arrive to Santa Barbara and check out the weekly Arts and Crafts Market by the ocean. On Day 3, explore this city and surrounding area with optional surf lessons, bike rentals, kayak rentals, a vineyard tour, local microbrew tour or whale watching.
Drive up the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) and enjoy the view. Stop along the way in Solvang and San Luis Obispo. Enjoy a picnic lunch at Pismo beach. Opt to rent a dune buggy.
Another gorgeous drive along the PCH. Visit the elephant seals and stop for photos. Great food options abound with dinner choices including the restaurants on Steinbeck's famous Cannery Row. On Day 6, enjoy an included Surrey bike rental and options like kayaking or visiting the famous Monterey Bay Aquarium.
Orientation walk of Union Square and Chinatown. Day 8 is a free day to explore. Visit the iconic Golden Gate Bridge and Fisherman's Wharf. Opt for an evening sunset sailing trip. In the afternoon on Day 9, drive to Yosemite National Park.
Hike past Yosemite's waterfalls and amongst the giant sequoias. Travel via Tioga Pass to Bishop, viewing Mono Lake and the Tufa Towers on the way.
Visit Death Valley—the hottest, driest and lowest spot on the continent. Carry on to Las Vegas and explore the famous strip. Opt for a limo tour or try your luck at the slots.
Hike along the rim of the Grand Canyon. Opt to take a helicopter tour. Enjoy a sunset pizza dinner at the rim.
Morning at the canyon, then drive Route 66. Stop at a traditional burger joint before arriving in Laughlin.
Drive back to Los Angeles for a final night on the town.
