When we think of Australia as a tourist destination, perhaps we think of the Sydney Opera House, the street art of Melbourne or diving in the Great Barrier Reef. Australia’s five largest tourism regions (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Perth) are all coastal cities and account for nearly half of all tourism in the country.
In the center of the country, you’ll find Australia’s Northern Territory. You may know it better as “The Outback.” This vast area is where you’ll find beautiful deserts, national parks, and Crocodile Dundee. From red desert sunsets to natural pools with flowing waterfalls fit for a fairy tale.
I invite you to take a visual tour of my own experience in Northern Territory as I travel from the Red Centre to the tropical Top End of Australia.
