With its vast savannas, intriguing tribal culture and rich wildlife, Kenya is the East Africa that many dream of. The country stretches from the arid grasslands of Masai Mara to the misty lakes of Nakuru and the looming peak of Mount Meru.

On a recent visit, I found the Kenya I was dreaming of. Here are some photographic highlights of Kenya that I hope will give you a glimpse of the country.

The Great Rift Valley from a look-out point.

The grasslands of Lake Nakuru.

We spotted a cheetah lounging under a tree in the Masai Mara Reserve.

A teenage lion enjoying the shade.

Hippos frolicking in the water of the Masai River.

The endangered rhino at Lake Nakuru National Park.

A giraffe munching on grass in Lake Nakuru.

Meeting the Masai tribes living in the Masai Mara Reserve of Kenya.

A flock of flamingoes on the shores of Lake Nakuru.

Visiting the mudhouse in which the Masai live.
