Glide straight into the core of the Costa Rican experience and hit two of Costa Rica’s hot spots in a kayak. Beginners and more experienced kayakers are welcome – for the nature lover, the scenery’s the point, not the sweat! Cruise through the canals of Tortuguero in search of monkeys and sloths, and then get really wild at Lake Arenal, the centre of adventure sports like paddleboarding. Experience lush greenery and Caribbean flavour from a whole different level when you kayak Costa Rica.

Itinerary

Day 1San José

Arrive at any time.

Day 2San José/Tortuguero(1B, 1L, 1D)

Travel east from San José, through the lush countryside of the Central Valley toward the Caribbean coast. Then transfer to a boat and motor through canals to arrive at Tortuguero.

Day 3Tortuguero(1B, 1L, 1D)

Enjoy the first of two included guided kayaking excursions this morning, followed by free time in the afternoon.

Day 4Tortuguero(1B, 1L, 1D)

Enjoy the second guided kayak excursion in the morning and a guided jungle hike in the afternoon.

Day 5Tortuguero/La Fortuna(1B)

Travel from Tortuguero to La Fortuna, with free time in the afternoon for optional activities.

Day 6La Fortuna

Take to the water and enjoy an included combo kayaking and stand-up paddle board session on Lake Arenal. Additional outdoor options include rafting, waterfall rappelling, soaking in therapeutic hot springs or touring Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge by boat.

Day 7La Fortuna

This is a free day to explore and choose to take part in a wide variety of optional activities. Go wild!

Day 8La Fortuna/San José

Transfer to San José.

Day 9San José

Depart at any time.
