Why sail the Greek Islands?

Nightlife

The Greek Islands are known for their nightlife, but you’d never see it if you went on a big ship. We dock close to the action, allowing you to step out after the ferries have gone home.

Mythology

History can be found in every nook and cranny in Greece, and your skipper knows all the local lore by heart.

Versatility

There are so many islands—each with their own unique character—that every port stop feels different and fresh.

Natural splendour

The Greek Islands lay claim to some of the greatest sunsets on Earth, and from the ship, you’ll have an unobstructed front-row seat.

Meet your Skippers

Vincent Donnelly

Born and raised in Ireland, Vince began his stay at G Adventures back in 2009 as a skipper/CEO in the Greek Islands. Since then, he worked his way up to the post of Head Skipper before taking on a management role as head of our European Sailing program. With over 50,000 nautical miles to his credit, Vince holds a commercially endorsed Yacht Master offshore license from the ISA. His expertise has been essential to the success and expansion of our European Sailing program, particularly in introducing new routes along the coasts of Greece and Croatia. Where will he take us next? There’s only one way to find out: Get on board.

Dave Hunter - Head Skipper

Originally from Ireland, Dave (aka “Captain Morgan”) was a civil engineer before discovering his true calling as a small-ship skipper. An avid sailor since childhood, Dave now boasts more than 50,000 nautical miles under his belt and holds a commercially endorsed Yacht Master offshore license from the ISA. A G Adventures skipper/CEO of long standing, Dave is extremely knowledgeable about Europe’s coastal waters and is particularly adept at discovering the region’s special secrets and sharing them with his travellers. When he’s not sailing, you might encounter him down in Antarctica piloting a Zodiac for our polar expedition ship, the MS Expedition.
