Greek Islands Sailing
Our small, comfortable yachts are ideally suited to sailing around the beautiful Greek Islands. Unique itineraries of 8, 10, 15 or 22 days offer you a chance to immerse yourself in Greek Island culture and history. Sail to small, seldom visited islands offering quaint shopping towns and the freshest seafood, or stroll through along the bright streets of more famous islands such as Santorini.
The Greek Islands were the birthplace of Apollo (on Delos Island) and of many famous Aegean Bronze Age (1600 - 1100 B.C.) cultures. Epic tales of this period were made famous in Greek Mythology and the Iliad and Odyssey writings of Homer. This was the time when the mysterious Minoan civilization settled in Crete, most likely originating from modern day Turkey (today we still cannot decipher their language or writings). Successful traders, the Minoans eventually gave way to the Mycenaean civilization from mainland Greece. The cause of the downfall of the Minoans is largely speculative, but most sources agree they were weakened by a catastrophic volcanic eruption on the island of Thera (Santorini), between 1500-1200 B.C.
Fast forward to the 21st Century and you will find that each day of sailing and visiting these islands brings a new adventure. Hiking, snorkeling and simply relaxing are favoured activities, as are exploring ancient archaeological sites and taverna-lined harbours or dining on delicious Greek cuisine, accompanied by the local drink - Ouzo!

Islands We Visit
With hundreds of Greek Islands in the archipelago, there is no shortage of places to visit. Here are some of the more common stops our yachts make on our voyages around the Aegean Sea.
Cyclades Islands
Located in the central and southern part of the Aegean Sea, there are more than 200 islands in the Cyclades of which around 24 are inhabited. On these small islands where the past meets the present, one can find both peace and tranquility and colourful nightlife. Narrow paths full of flowers, whitewashed houses, blue windows and white churches under the dazzling sun are complemented by golden beaches. This is one of those magical places where the reality outstrips the postcards.
Andros
The island as a whole is dramatically beautiful in its geology, and relatively green for the region. Enjoy the nice beaches located nearby, especially at Grias Pidima.
Syros
In Syros you experience authentic Greek culture, great eating, and a handful of small but pleasant beaches.
Naxos
Naxos town is a pretty, and typical Greek Island town offering plenty of charm. Visit the monument to Apollonius (Bacchus), which was started in 530BC, but strangely never completed. The town also has a Venetian castle, and was once ruler of its surrounding islands. The ‘labyrinth’ street patterns exist here as a testament to the cunning of local inhabitants in their efforts to confuse and ward off piracy in past times.
Paros
Livadhi is a small town on the east coast of Paros. It’s quaint, and provides a respite from other busier ports in the region. Sample the local cuisine at one of the various tavernas commanding superb views over the strait between Paros and Naxos. Naousa is another idyllic island town, with a historical port, featuring Venetian ruins.
Mykonos
Legendary both in ancient and modern times, Mykonos is one of the best-known Greek Islands, and provides ample entertainment for history and party buffs alike. Just a short boat ride away from the main port lies Delos, legendary birthplace of Apollo and home of the Gods. Mykonos town, as typical a whitewashed Greek Island town can be, has long been famous for its nightlife, with its bars and clubs filled with the beautiful people of Europe rocking till dawn. During the days, a short bus and boat ride takes you to some of the best—and craziest—beaches in all of Europe!
Antiparos
Antiparos is a tiny island just a 30 minute bus ride from Paros. Hop on one of the hourly buses to the large cave deep inside the island. The cave is fully fitted with staircases all the way to the bottom, which is a 100m vertical drop.
Ios
Believed to be the birthplace of the famous poet Homer. Hora, the island’s capital is said to be one of the most beautiful of all cities in the Cyclades. The island is dotted with hundreds of churches and also offers fantastic beaches. Take the enjoyable 25-minute walk to the old town of Charos at the top of the hill to enjoy some panoramic views.
SANTORINI (THIRA)
Still shaky Santorini needs no introduction, being a 1 million year old volcano that remains in active/dormant state until today. The island was home to a Minoan settlement that was obliterated by an eruption around 1650BC, which sent tsunamis through the eastern Mediterranean. Remarkably, the island has always been resettled due to the rich volcanic soil's fertile properties. The wines, tomatoes and cucumbers from this island are super tasty due to the soil composition and low rainfall. Visitors can make their way from sea level to the crater rim either by bus, gondola or even a donkey ride.
