Travel by private bus through the rainforest to the Iwokrama River Lodge. Free time to explore the trails and look for birds and wildlife. Evening excursion on the river to spot caiman and other nocturnal wildlife. On Day 4, morning boat trip on the Essequibo River to look for wildlife. Hike up Turtle Mountain for breathtaking views over the forest canopy while keeping an eye out for monkeys and birds. Visit a small Amerindian village and a butterfly farm. Free afternoon to explore the trails near the lodge.
Travel by 4x4 through the Iwokrama Forest, keeping an eye out for the elusive jaguar. Observe many different species of birds and wildlife from the unique canopy walkway, a series of suspension bridges and observation decks high up in the forest.
Continue by 4x4 truck to the Amerindian community of Surama. Guided tour of the village to learn about their culture and traditions.
