June 17, 2008 - Take the leap of a lifetime out of a perfectly good airplane - all for a great cause! Join G Adventures, a world leader in adventure travel at its 5th annual Jump for Charity.
“We’re looking forward to this event with tremendous anticipation,” said Danielle Weiss, Planeterra Manager. “This year, our goal is to raise a minimum of $20,000. 100% of the proceeds from the fundraising event will go directly to Planeterra, G Adventures’ non-profit foundation which supports local community projects and international charities.”
G Adventures has committed to pay 50% of the jump fees for 80 skydivers in Toronto and Calgary, Canada, who in turn are required to each raise a minimum of $300. The top fundraiser in each location will win a fantastic G Adventures 9-day trip to Costa Rica!
Skydivers will have the opportunity to select between a Tandem skydive (jump with an instructor and freefall together for 35 seconds from 10,500 feet) or an Instructor Assisted Deployment skydive (jumping solo from 3500 feet, a Jumpmaster accompanies you in the plane and will automatically open your parachute). All participants will receive full safety and ground training. The day will also be filled with plenty of on the ground activities including a delicious barbecue, a bonfire and optional overnight camping.
“The adrenaline keeps rushing through your veins, days after the jump”, said former skydive participant Tanya Murray.
