May 29, 2008 - Every year, the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) presents awards to tour operators for their outstanding support. We are delighted to announce that we have won the Tanzania Tourism 2008 Tour Operator Humanitarian Award. This prestigious award recognizes tour operators who give back to the local villages they visit and who encourage their clients to do likewise.
The TTB's Annual Tourism Awards were presented at an Gala Awards Dinner which was well attended by Tanzania's Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, heads of delegations from more than 20 African countries and hundreds of travel professionals.
“With this award, the Tanzania Tourist Board brings prominence to humanitarian efforts and highlights the need for ongoing commitment,” said Bruce Poon Tip, CEO of G Adventures. “G Adventures is committed to giving back to the communities we travel through, and is pleased to support an HIV/AIDS Education Workshop Program in Tanzania which reaches over 1,000 Tanzanian youth.”
