G Adventures HONORED ON THIRD ANNUAL CONDÉ NAST TRAVELER WORLD SAVERS AWARDS

8 Sep 2009
G Adventures Named One of The Top Companies Dedicated to Making A Difference In The World

G Adventures, the world’s leading small group adventure tour operator, was honored in Condé Nast Traveler’s September 2009 3rd Annual World Savers Awards. G Adventures was chosen by a panel of thirty-six judges, including academics, CEOs and philanthropists. The judges assessed the degree to which companies exhibited social responsibility in five areas: education, poverty alleviation, wildlife conservation, cultural and environmental preservation, and health.

The Condé Nast Traveler judges honored G Adventures in the following categories:

• Poverty:
With G Adventures’ variety of trips from Thailand to Buenos Aires, the judges rewarded the company for its dedication to the communities in which it works. When an earthquake hit Peru in 2007, G Adventures raised more than $130,000 to support the recovery effort.

• Preservation:
G Adventures’ Expedition ship, which utilizes four-stroke engines with reduced emissions on its Arctic and Antarctic sails, was honored for its protection of wildlife.

• Health:
G Adventures received recognition for its dedication to organizing dental work in Peru, restoring sight to locals in Tibet, and fighting child mortality in Bolivia.

• Overall Commitment:
G Adventures was named the number one tour company to give back to communities around the world.

“We are thrilled to be included in such a prestigious list and are pleased that the judges on the panel recognizes G Adventures commitment to service and excellence,” said founder and CEO of G Adventures, Bruce Poon Tip. He adds, “This honor is a testament to the dedication, creativity, and integrity of each employee here at G Adventures.”
