Take a day trip to Isla Negra, Pablo Neruda’s seaside home. This house was one of the poet and politician’s three homes, while not technically an island the house is near the water and it’s believed that watching the storms on the ocean inspired Neruda to write his famous poem Oda a la Tormenta. The author and his third-wife Matilde Urrutia are both buried on the grounds and the house is now a museum.
Head to Barrio Bellavista as the locals call this bohemian neighbourhood to enjoy a delicious meal, check out some art galleries, or have a drink at one of the many bars in the area.

Transfer by van to the winery region outside of Mendoza for a full-day bicycle tour of the wineries and enjoy an included traditional Argentine lunch. Whitewater raft down the Mendoza River, one of the best places for rafting in Argentina. While most of the year the river is calm, in the summer the melting snow from the Andes streams into the river, creating Class IV and V rapids.
Hike through the beautiful landscape around Mendoza using the available hiking trails. If there’s enough time, climbing Cerro Arco takes about a half day and the trail has an amazing view of the Andean foothills and nearby plains. There are lots of other trails in the area ranging from moderate to extreme difficulty, so grab your boots and work off some of that wine!
Explore the countryside like a gaucho and take a horseback riding excursion from just outside of Mendoza.

Embark on a trek in the mountains and forests surrounding the city of Tucumán. Depart from the hotel after breakfast and transfer by private vehicle to the start point of the trek, passing by the summit of San Miguel de Tucumán for great panoramic views of the city.
Transfer back to Tucuman.

Spend time trekking in the mountains and forests around Tucumán. On route to the starting point, enjoy the panoramic view of the city while passing by San Miguel de Tucumán. While hiking along the mountain footpaths through the Yungas, learn about the plant life in the area. Reach the peak of Cerro San Javier and take in the view and visit the falls nearby.

A popular optional activity near Salta is the famous 'Train of the Clouds,' however in recent years the train has suffered service interruptions and breakdowns. It has resumed operations but be warned that schedules are inconsistent, however it is possible to follow the route by minivan on an optional tour.
Back in Salta, try Empanadas Salteñas - the delicious local specialty. In the evening, experience the local culture at one of the "Peña" folklore shows.
