With an early morning start, travel to the mountains of Sa Pá. Set out on your first trek to the village of Cat Cat. Meet locals going about their day as you pass giant wooden water wheels used to pound rice from the area's terraced fields. Stop by a village craft shop to see weavers at work on their looms. Trek back to Sa Pá for the night.
Upon arrival in Sa Pá, drop off your luggage at the hotel and bring a day pack for the afternoon trek to Cat Cat Village.
Nestled in the Muong Hoa Valley, the trek to Cat Cat Village is quite steep, but offers a paved trail and scenic views of village life and the towering water mills. Known for their woven crafts, spend some time with the artisans and wander the quaint village.
Climb aboard and make friends with your seatmate en route to the next stop.
Today, embark on a 15km hike to reach the village of Tả Van. Uncover the beauty of this northern region as you wind your way down the valley, admiring peaceful villages and rice terraces intricately carved into the slopes. After a long day, savour a delicious dinner with your host family at tonight's rustic homestay.
Throughout the trek, enjoy opportunities to meet local hilltribe communities. In the H'Mong village of Lao Chai, learn about a famous ancient rock and stop for a picnic-style lunch. In the village of Tả Van, meet with members of the Red Dzao community and experience local culture and customs at the homestay.
Hike through beautiful forested trails and serene terraced rice fields that cascade over the slopes of mountain valleys on the trail to Tả Van village.

Set out for your final trek to the village of Giang Ta Chai, stopping by the Muong Hoa River en route. Hike through terraced rice paddies, a bamboo forest, and picturesque waterfalls as you take in the lush landscapes. This afternoon, transfer back to Sa Pá, before boarding an overnight train to Hanoi.
At Giang Ta Chai, meet members of the local H'Mong community who still wear their colourful traditional garments. And if the weather is right, opt for a swim in the cool mountain waters of the Muong Hoa River.
Soak in the views of vibrantly coloured hills, where locals have planted rice and corn for generations, en route to Giang Ta Chai village.
