Sure, you could see South Africa from the back of a 4x4 on a safari, but there’s nothing like the feel of Table Mountain under your feet as you hike to the summit. Get your sweat on as you take the short, challenging hike up the mountain before continuing down into Cape Point National Park, enjoying the great views and variety of landscapes across South Africa. You’ll have the chance to immerse yourself in local village culture along the way, as well as visiting the African penguin sanctuary.

Day 1Cape Town

Arrive at any time.

Day 2Cape Town/Noordhoek(1B, 1L)

Enjoy the first hike of the week and climb to the summit of Table Mountain, a challenging but rewarding walk. At the top, take in the wonderful views across the coast below. The descent travels through the low pass of Constanzia Nek before completing the scenic Chapman's Peak. Return to Noordhoek for the evening.

Day 3Noordhoek(1B, 1L)

Walk along Vlakkensberg Trail, and follow the rocky trail past beautiful heathland and old manganese mines. The steep climb up Chapman's Peak reveals breathtaking coastal views. Return to Noordhoek for an additional evening.

Day 4Noordhoek/Simon's Town(1B, 1L)

Walk across Long Beach, passing the iron skeleton of the SS Kakapo en route. Enjoy lunch and find out more about this fascinating area. The hike continues over the Slangkop Peak before proceeding into Simon's Town.

Day 5Simon's Town(1B, 1L)

Enjoy a special treat in the morning with a visit to the African penguins at their beach side sanctuary in Simon's Town. Later, ascend the little-used paths above Simon's Town along the trail to Swartkop, enjoying some of the most spectacular views to date. The trail continues down to Smitswinkel Bay, before returning to Simon's Town for the evening.

Day 6Simon's Town/Cape Town(1B, 1L)

In the morning, walk in Cape Point NP, crossing rocky and rugged trails. Take in the stunning views across the ocean on all sides. Return to Cape Town for the evening.

Day 7Cape Town(1B)

Depart at any time.
