Arrive at any time and transfer to hotel.
Enjoy a tour of a coffee farm, visit Poas Volcano and the La Paz Waterfall gardens on your way to the Arenal area. Chill out and relax in the evening with a visit to nearby hot springs.
Charge up your camera, bring your binoculars, and set off to spot a variety of birds, reptiles, insects and other animals on a guided tour of Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge.
Transfer to the mountain community of Monteverde and the cloud forest. Opt to visit the cheese factory or butterfly gardens.
Head off to the biological reserve for a guided trek through the lush, thriving cloud forest. The rest of the afternoon and evening are free for you to enjoy.

You will be transported to the Hobbiton Movie set tour which is a visitor experience based at the original location where Hobbiton was created for the filming of the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit films. It offers an interesting and entertaining experience incorporating the famous film set and a special insight into rural life. Your tour starts with a drive through the picturesque sheep farm with its spectacular views across to the Kaimai Ranges. Your guide will escort you through the site recounting fascinating details of how the Hobbiton Movie Set was created. Hobbit holes, The Green Dragon Inn, The Mill and other structures can be viewed, and you will see how this beautiful piece of Waikato farmland was transformed into The Shire from Middle Earth. Specially brewed beverages are available at The Green Dragon Inn as you complete your tour. Please note: Tour runs in all weather conditions. Fly over the site of the largest eruption in New Zealand’s living memory, Mount Tarawera, and gain an appreciation of how the 1886 eruption changed this stunning landscape. From Mount Tarawera to the Waimangu Volcanic Valley, view the eruption trail and surrounding Lakes district whilst enjoying informed commentary from your experienced local pilot / guide, all combined with the thrill of taking off and landing on water at the Rotorua City Lakefront. A return scenic cruise across Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak High Country Farm on board the vintage steamship TSS Earnslaw. On disembarking at Walter Peak, you’ll be welcomed and guided through the lakeside gardens to the Colonel’s Homestead for the dinner. Colonel’s Homestead features a stately ballroom and finely appointed rooms each featuring a roaring open fire to evoke a cosy atmosphere on colder evenings. The gourmet BBQ menu incorporates the fresh seasonal produce and local seafood so famous in the Central Otago region and surrounding coastal areas. All meat and seafood are cooked on the outdoor BBQ and rotisserie, in front of guests and served immediately. A locally influenced wine list and other beverages are also available to purchase at the bar. Following dinner, you will have an option of a brief farm show or relax at the bar instead, before returning on board the TSS Earnslaw to Queenstown.
