After arriving in Luxor visit Dandara Temple. Dedicated to Hathour, the Goddess of love and motherhood, the temple has tombs around the site that belong to the old kingdom. There's also some well known details on the ceiling that show the first calendar in the Ancient World. Dandara is often said to be the best preserved temple in Egypt. It sees fewer visitors than other sites in the area and yet is one of the most expansive.
After breakfast the group will travel to the West Bank to meet our student-guide. Together we will walk through the village and visit the Funtasia Project Center where the group will learn about the Planeterra project at this location over tea with our guide.
Funtasia is a local nonprofit that works with young people in the West Bank of Luxor to develop life skills and social consciousness. They work with youth in after school programs that teach art, communication, and social skills.
