Day 1Cape Town

Arrive at any time. This evening, enjoy a traditional South African braai (barbecue) with your fellow travellers.

Your Welcome Moment: Welcome Moment - Meet Your CEO and Group

Your opportunity to meet your CEO and fellow travellers, and learn more about your tour. Opt to join the group for a local meal afterwards. Don't forget to see the notice in the lobby (or ask reception) for the official time and place to meet up with the group.

Day 2Cape Town

This morning, head out on a walking tour of Cape Town, led by your CEO. Explore the city's rich history, visit iconic landmarks, and try some of South Africa's best on-the-go bites. The city is vibrant and loud; walk down Long Street and get a feel for the eclectic style of the Capetonians. Finish at a local pub and enjoy a tasting of craft beers. After, head to the waterfront to grab your bike and cycle alongside the sea; get that salty air in your face and breathe it in. Stop and admire contemporary art, and finish your ride at Sea Point. Ditch the bike and choose to stay to hear some local music.

Grab your walking shoes and skip breakfast (or just eat two!) because with this day tour you will be tasting your way around the highlights of Cape Town. Enjoy specialty coffee, local delicacies, and experience the sights and sounds while enjoying the local culture that Cape Town has to offer. Walk through Bo Kaap formerly known as the Cape Malay quarter and wander around the cobblestoned streets. Take pictures of the colourful houses, visit the old Mosque, and learn about the Peoples church of the Apartheid era at St Georges Cathedral. Smell the roses at the flower market in Adderley and finish your half day tour with a leisurely stroll back to the starting point.

Head down to the waterfront to grab our bikes. From here we cycle to even more of Cape Town, closer to the sea, so that you can get that salty air in your face and breathe it in. Stop and admire contemporary art, and finish your ride at Sea Point.

Day 3Cape Town

Start your morning with the best view of the city, taking the Cable Car up to the top of Table Mountain. The views are spectacular and your CEO will take you to explore the top of the mountain. Continue to the seaside town of Hout Bay for a short walk and some free time time to grab a bite to eat. Fish and Chips anyone? Linger over lunch, or carry on exploring by foot, the remaining few hours of the day are yours to enjoy at leisure. For travellers continuing on to another G Adventures tour, your CEO will help facilitate the joining of the new group starting in the evening.

Hout Bay Orientation Walk
Hout Bay

Take a walk with your CEO in the seaside suburb of Hout Bay. Located on the stunning Cape Peninsula in the shadow of Table Mountain, theres plenty to do and see in your free time. Wander the town for some shopping, explore the harbour front, marina and markets, or stop at one of the many restaurants and bars for a drink and fish and chips.

Table Mountain Cable Car

Take the five-minute cable car trip to the top of Table Mountain, 1,085m (3,562ft) above Cape Town, and explore the summit. This is a great spot to sit and soak up the commanding 360-degree views of Cape Town, Table Bay, the peaks of surrounding mountains, and the rest of Table Mountain National Park. The operation of the cable car is weather dependent. This activity is self-guided.

Please note that the cable car is closed every year for a 2 week period between July and August for annual maintenance.
