Transfer one hour from Manaus to the village of Rio Preto da Eva, visit a local market before heading up river by motorized canoe to the jungle lodge.
The wet season, from March to August known as igapó, floods the surrounding forests enriching the soil and plants. Gliding over the submerged forest by canoe is an experience that is unique to the Amazon.
The dry season from September to February also has its draws, when the level of the river reaches its lowest, fish crowd together making them easy targets for catfish and dolphins. Lower water levels also make it harder for caimans to hide and easier to spot.

Today is a long travel day to get to the calm teal waters of "Jeri". Travel up the coast away from Fortaleza and arrive in the evening in time to watch the sunset over the ocean.

Enjoy the chill life in Jeri, spend the day exploring the area by 4x4 or relax in a floating hammock above the crystal clear water. In the evening, watch Brazilians practice Capoeira on the beach, a unique type of martial art made to look like dancing.
Affectionately known as 'Jeri' to locals, Jericoacoara is a small fishing village where the streets are made of sand. Surrounded by sand dunes, and stunning coastline there are plenty of activities to choose from during the day. At night, the town lights up with its many restaurants and fun nightlife.

Grab your camera and a caipirinha and head to Pôr do Sol, a sand dune perfect for watching the sunset. One of the few places in the world you can see an emerald sunset, where the sun briefly turns a bright green before descending over the horizon.
Rent a board on main street and head to one of the surrounding dunes to try your hand at sandboarding.
Take a stroll along the endless beach and watch windsurfers ride the waves. Opt to take a surf lesson, rent a stand up paddle board or soak up the sun.
Visit the Holed Stone, a famous rock formation located a 30 min walk down the beach, grab your camera, it makes for a scenic view with the ocean as its backdrop.

Jeri is a great place for a surf lesson because of its smaller waves, grab a long board and try it out! Head to Malhada if you're looking for more of a challenge and larger waves. The best time of year for surfing is from December to April when there is less wind.

Salvador is famous for it's Afro-Brazilian culture, if you haven't had a chance to see the famous Capoeira, check out a performance. Wander the cobblestone streets of Pelourinho, the old city, and sit outside and enjoy dinner while people watching.
Find a spot on the umbrella crowded beach and do some shopping from the vendors passing by, they sell almost everything. The bay has calm waters which makes it ideal to go for a dip in the ocean.

Head away from the coast for some hiking, mountains and breathtaking landscapes. Catch a bus to Chapada Diamantina NP and look forward to a few active days. Enjoy the evening in the small town of Lençóis, the base for exploring the park.

Chapada Diamantina NP is a hidden Brazilian gem with flat top mountains, beautiful waterfalls and majestic caves to discover. Hike around the park and explore the caves filled with crystal clear water, swim in natural pools and test your fear of heights at impressive lookout points.
Over the next few days, enjoy guided exploration through Chapada Diamantina NP. Journey down into the caves at Gruta Lapa Doce and Pratinha, where the glowing blue water is so transparent that it's hard to tell where the roof ends and the water begins.
Hike through the park to Poco do Diablo waterfall for a swim en route to Morro do Pai Inácio for an incredible view over the beautiful park.
