Founded in 1968 to celebrate Bacchus, the Roman God of Wine, this massive parade includes over 1000 people and more than 30 floats. Keep your eyes peeled for celebrities (Will Ferrell and William Shatner have been King of this Parade before), and famous floats like the Bacchasaurus, a giant dinosaur and the Bacchawhoppa, a massive whale.

The Zulu Parade represents a collection of African tribes that got together as a group to provide rights and insurance to members of their society. One of the most culturally significant parades, join the celebrations of their culture and history. Make sure to get up early if you want to catch this one, as the Zulu Parade rolls out at 8am.
Arguably the most famous Mardi Gras Parade, the Rex Krewe dates back to 1872 and uses the official Mardi Gras colours of purple, green and gold as its theme. This group started running their annual parade after the end of the American Civil War to try and entice tourists to visit the city. Known for elaborately decorated floats with performers in full costumes and masks, this parade is not to be missed if you want to experience a piece of Mardi Gras history.
