If you arrive early and have time to explore, Lima is a friendly city filled with excellent restaurants. Seafood lovers in particular should be sure to try a ceviche, for which Lima is well known.
Please note that hot water shortages and power outages can be fairly common in Peru (even in upgraded hotels and private homes). We appreciate your patience and understanding that these occurrences are outside of our control.
On Day 1 of the tour, a G Adventures representative will meet you at the hotel to go over the details of the tour, providing a schedule, documentation/vouchers, and pick-up times for all included activities. The representative can also answer any questions about the tour or the general area.
Catch an early flight to Cusco. Tour ends on arrival to the city.
Transfer to the airport for the flight to Cusco. On arrival, get a transfer into the city. Tour ends on arrival.
Typically this package is purchased in conjunction with "The Inca Trail" tour (trip code SPIT). If you have purchased the Inca Trail tour, you will be met by your local guide at the hotel in the evening to go over the trip ahead.
The transfer typically takes travellers from the Cusco airport to the Prisma Hotel in Cusco. If you have not booked anything further with G Adventures, the driver will be happy to drop you at whichever hotel you have booked.
The rest of the day is free to relax and explore the fascinating city of Cusco, and to acclimatize to the altitude.

Enjoy a visit to this beautiful cathedral; its construction began in 1559 and continued for another hundred years. Be sure to check out its excellent collection of colonial art, and the vault containing the remains of the famous Inca historian, Garcilaso de la Vega.
