Created in 1958, Montagne D'Ambre National Park was the first national park in Madagascar. This impressive park in northern Madagascar is one of the most diverse parks on the island, and is home to 25 species of mammal, 60 reptiles, and over 70 bird species. The day is spent exploring the tropical forests and tranquil waterfalls on a network of walking trails. Keep a look out for the ever present lemurs, but also some of the smaller inhabitants, including geckos, chameleons and butterflies.
Continue on to Ankarana Reserve, home to spectacular limestone 'tsingy' rock formations, underground rivers and sacred caves.
Accommodation for two nights are in bungalows right at the entrance to the park. There is a small restaurant and sitting area where you can enjoy dinner or a drink. The bungalows are basic, but clean, and the location is perfect for exploring the park.

Enjoy the scenic journey south to the small fishing village of Ankify, where we get a boat across to the island paradise of Nosy Be.
While the official name of Nosy Be, means "Big Island" in Malagasy, it is commonly referred to as Nosy Manitra, or "the Perfume Island", due to the fragrant Ylang Ylang and bougainvillea flowers found all over the island.
