Please note that the Quito international airport (UIO, Mariscal Sucre) will be closed on the following dates in 2025 for preventative maintenance on the runway: April 5 & 12; May 10, 17 & 31; June 7, 14, 21, 28; September 6, 13 & 20, between the hours of 2am and 2pm. For passengers flying in or out of Quito on these dates, please double-check flight schedules with your airline in case of changes. Internal flights within Ecuador and Galapagos will be adjusted accordingly and any changes to schedules will be communicated at the welcome briefing.

Itinerary: Enjoy a full-day excursion to experience the charm and culture of Ecuador's Otavalo Market. Surrounded by the Imbabura, Cotacachi, and Mojanda volcanoes, the vibrant and beautiful city of Otavalo is home to a large indigenous poulation and known for its handicrafts. Continue to the nearby town of Cotacachi to browse the leather market and craft shops before a delicious typical lunch at a local restaurant. Next head to the Peguche waterfalls or Cuicocha Lake before returning to Quito.
Meal: A Kichwa traditional lunch is included in your tour, and is a G for Good Planeterra project. You will be warmly welcomed by indigenous women for their community meals initiative Rupay Mikuna, which means "Warm Meal". Rupay Mikuna offers an authentic culinary and cultural immersion, where the women not only provide an unforgettable gastronomic experience but also strengthen their economic empowerment and celebrate their traditions for future generations.
Note that this Day Tour is operated by one of G Adventures' preferred suppliers and will be a shared service with other non-G Adventures travellers.
