This 10-day adventure is perfect for those who want to experience the incredible wildlife and scenery of the Galápagos Islands but prefer to sleep on shore – so your time on the water is limited to commuting between islands. Go ashore at the lesser-visited island of Isabela and spend your days with playful sea lions, giant manta rays, and the Galápagos giant tortoise. This adventure offers a great balance of guided excursions and free time – and optional activities abound.

Places Visited

Day 1Quito

Arrive at any time.

Day 2Quito/San Cristóbal Island(1B, 1L)

Fly to San Cristóbal. Visit Mann Beach to see the sea lions and frigatebirds.

Day 3San Cristóbal Island(1B, 1L)

Enjoy a snorkelling trip to Kicker Rock to search for marine life like sea turtles, manta rays, and sharks. Visit the Interpretation Centre in the afternoon to learn about the natural history of the area.

Day 4San Cristóbal Island/Floreana Island(1B, 1L, 1D)

Travel by boat to Floreana Island, where there are opportunities to swim and snorkel. Free afternoon in Puerto Velasco Ibarra.

Day 5Floreana Island/Isabela Island(1B, 1L)

Morning excursion to the highlands of Floreana. Continue by boat to Isabela Island for a visit to the "Wall of Tears" and a nearby lookout point.

Day 6Isabela Island(1B, 1L)

Full-day tour to Sierra Negra Volcano to see the second-largest crater in the world and enjoy an exhilarating downhill bike excursion. Visit the Giant Tortoise Breeding Centre on the way back to town. Opt to take surfing lessons on the nearby beach.

Day 7Isabela Island/Santa Cruz(1B, 1L)

Morning mountain biking around Isabela. Travel by boat in the afternoon to Santa Cruz Island and have a free evening for shopping or exploring the town of Puerto Ayora.

Day 8Santa Cruz(1B, 1L)

Visit the highlands of Santa Cruz to see the giant tortoise's natural habitat and the lava tunnels. Afternoon walk to Tortuga Bay for a kayak excursion to explore the mangroves.

Day 9Santa Cruz/Quito(1B)

Visit the Charles Darwin Research Station before transferring across Santa Cruz Island to Baltra. Fly back to Quito.

Day 10Quito(1B)

Depart at any time. To fully experience this charming city, booking pre- or post-accommodation is highly recommend.
